Orange CYMS closed the gap at the top of the table to 3 points with their 5 wicket win over Kinross in ODCA Second Grade action on Saturday.
Matt Byrne (68) and Wal Prowse (56) scored half centuries in Kinross' total of 7/178 with Joel Blashki 3/10 and Harry Priest 3/22 the best of the CYMS bowlers. In response, opener Brett Wykes made a run-a-ball 85 and skipper John Mulhall 62 as the green and golds chased down the students total with 3 and a half overs to spare. Robbie Heath picked up 3/19 from 7 overs.
Orange City climbed off the bottom of the table, with a win over Cavaliers. The Warriors attack dismissed Cavaliers for 100 inside 25 overs, with Montana Griffith (2/8), Ryan Manning (3/22) and Nate Lee (2/13) the multiple wicket takers. Skipper Zac Pavy top scored for Cavaliers with 28.
In reply, City relied on contributions from most of their batters to chase down the runs needed. George Honeysett (3/20) and Alec Duffy (2/22) picked up multiple wickets for Cavaliers but couldn't stop the Warriors from securing victory in the 35th over with 3 wickets in hand.
In the other 2nd Grade match, Centrals posted 6/276 against Wanderers, with Ben Winslade (85 no), Graeme Judge (66) and Angus Norton (66) the main contributors, before Jack Judge (6/22) ripped part Wanderers' top order to help Centrals to a comfortable 185 run victory with a bonus point to boot.
