8 teams will contest this season’s Bonnor Cup T20 competition.
Teams have been divided into two pools of 4, with the top 2 teams in each pool at the end of the preliminary rounds to contest the semi finals in February. This season will feature 3 Thursday night matches as well as matches in the usual Friday night timeslot.
The competition is set to commence on Friday 27 October when Centrals meet St Pats Old Boys in the opening match from Pool A. Orange CYMS and Bathurst City are the other two Pool A teams, with Cavaliers, City Colts, Orange City and Rugby Union grouped in Pool B.
The competition also welcomes a new sponsor this season with BurMac Insurance Solutions coming on board.
This will be the 12th season since the competition changed to the T20 format, with Cavaliers having won 4 T20 titles in that time and St Pats Old Boys lifting the cup twice.
This seasons competition also complements the BOIDC competition to some extent, in that teams will play the 2 opponents they don’t play in a BOIDC one day match, in the Bonnor Cup competition.
